October 12 Thanksgiving Weekend.........Just had a very eventful Thanksgiving Weekend. Drove to Montreal with Jack and Grace on Friday to attend Jackson and Rebecca's wedding. The drive to Montreal took longer than coming back to Sauga. We got stuck in traffic trying to leave Toronto, and hit another traffic jam after we left Kingston. The wedding was very nice and elegant. Was able to meet some new and different people, and some people from Waterloo/Navs.
Got back from Montreal on Sunday afternoon, just in time to have Thanksgiving with the Cawthra crew at Marvin's. The dinner was a big feast as usually with all the usual fixins. Was so stuffed by the end of the night.
Also got a chance to upload the jacket ceremony from the 2006 NMGA Masters. Here's the link:
August 28 Chillin' in Calgary.....Just came back home last Thursday from my trip to Calgary, and it was a pretty awesome trip. Got to check out the city of Calgary and the U of C campus. Calgary is a very beautiful city, and I'd definitely go back there again, since there were still some places in the city that I didn't get a chance to visit. Went to Banff and Lake Louise to check out the scenery, and the mountains were HUGE!!! Awesome sights up in the mountains. Also got a chance to drive up to Edmonton to check out the West Edmonton Mall, and to see the Wayne Gretzky statue. While I was in Calgary, I met some of my sister's friends from school and Navs. Had a blast hanging out and getting to know them.
One more week of free time, before I start work again, but I'm looking forward to it. Need the money! hehe...... July 04 Whoa....haven't blogged in awhile....Where to begin? Been busy with school these few months, got a few chances to go back to Sauga to chill with the gang. Couple weeks ago, the 2nd NMGA Golf Tourney was played, but has yet to be decided with Rob, Phil and I holding 6, 4 and 2 skins respectively with 6 skins on the line. Phil would've wrapped up the win with a hole-in-one on the 18th hole, but Steve made another crazy hole-in-one shot that tied the hole, leaving 6 skins up for grabs. Can't wait to see who will take it, the next time we play.
This past weekend was a big blur of watching the entire Season 2 of Lost and WoW. Yeah, I started playing again, since Jack and Geoff were very convincing in getting me to play again. After all this, I still got my CS assignment finished on time.
Well, looking forward to finishing up the rest of the term. My exams end earlier this term so I'll have a couple weeks off before I start work again in the fall. Looking forward to working again. NEED MONEY!!! HAHA!
May 09 One Week In.......Well, I'm one week into the study term and it's been pretty good so far. I should be able to do well in the courses that I'm taking this term, especially now that my subscription to WoW is expired. During the first week of school I also got to catch with some friends and acquaintances.
This term I gotta work harder, both academically as well as at the gym. No more slacking off and fooling around when I can be either studying or going to the gym. April 16 Cruise-ing through the weekend......Been a while since my last update, but the time has been filled with mostly work and lounging around. This past Easter weekend was filled with lots of good times and good friends. On Thursday, the whole gang went to celebrate Francy's birthday at the MSSU boat cruise in downtown Toronto. The funny thing was that the picture of the boat on the ticket looked WAY better than the boat that we actually were on. Total case of false advertising. HAHA! The food wasn't that great, but we weren't there for the food anyways. We were there for the good view and the great times dancing and socializing with the whole gang.
Friday was a time to just chill and relax after a hard night of partying, as Saturday I chilled with Phil and Steve and Steve's place. Had dinner and played some vid games and some Chinese checkers. Good times. Well it's getting towards the end of my co-op work-term and I'm really looking forward to the school term. With most of the gang graduating this year, it makes me want to finish up my undergrad faster so that we can chill some more outside of school and work.
Till next time, peace. March 20 Brokeback LondonThis past weekend Steve, Phil and I went to London to visit Rob and to attend the CAISA fashion show that was being organized there. Funny story before Steve and I left for London on Saturday afternoon (Phil went up earlier with his parents to celebrate his sister's b-day). Originally Steve was hesitant about going to Western, since he had to work at the art expo downtown for the entire weekend, but after convincing him to come with me to Western (since all he did at the art expo was to take care of the change rooms while staring at a blank wall for 4+ hours) we decided to get some lunch before we left for London.
I had suggested that we go to Macey's for lunch since it was quick and cheap, and plus I was craving some curry beef w/ rice and some shrimp dumplings in soup. Steve had told his sister and his parents that he would be downtown all weekend working and studying, and decided not to tell them that he was going to Western with me. Now it must be pointed out that Steve's family and Macey's is equivalent to my family and Sam Woo in that you can always find our families there on the weekends. Steve was sorta reluctant about going to Macey's for lunch thinking his parents might be there, but since he had talked with his sister a few minutes earlier thinking his parents were also with her we thought it would be safe to go to Macey's. Little did we know that once we stepped into the restaurant, Steve's mother called him out and was busted!
After lunch we made our way to London as fast as we could to make the show on time. The fashion show was pretty good all around, good entertainment from the hosts, great music and choreography and the models weren't bad as well.
At around 1:30-2:00 am we headed back to Rob's rez and crashed there for the night. Rob didn't have enough furniture for us to sleep on so Phil got the only other bed in the place, while Steve and I each slept in sleeping bags on the the floor. If you've ever slept on a wooden floor you'll know what Steve and I went through. Needless to say that both Steve and I had a Brokeback experience in more ways than one!
In the morning we went out for some brunch before heading back to Sauga. I want to thank Rob for having us over at his place in Western, and if we ever get the chance again to go back and visit we'd definitely go again. Till next time, peace out.
March 06 Wed Low-tuss!This past weekend was all about plenty of good food. This past Friday Phil, Steve and I went to Tandoori Time on Burnhamthorpe for some awesome Indian food. Phil got the Shahi Paneer, Steve got the Lamb Biryani, while I got the Chicken Palak. We shared the three dishes that were served with rice and nan. All three were very good and I'd definitely recommend that restaurant for anyone looking for some very good Indian cuisine.
On Saturday monring, Steve, Mo and I went to the River Grove Community Centre to work out. I'm not sure if I've been slacking off, or if Steve and Mo have pushed their traning routines higher, but I was getting a really good workout from Steve and Mo pushing really hard on the various weight exercises. It's all good though, have to learn to push myself harder when they're not there with me. (but it's not likely to happen....HAHA!)
Later that evening Phil, Steve, Mo and I went to a Schezwan restaurant called the Red Lotus (or as Steve and I call it the Wed Low-tuss in the most fobby accent ever). The food was some of the hottest most spiciest food that I've ever had. We got a big hot pot of fish that was filled with LOTS of red peppers and peppercorn. The hot and sour soup was also as hot as Steve had advertised it to be. Steve was saying we have to take Francy there next time, since she can really take the spicy food. Great food and great times were had all around. We then went to Bubble Republic to pick up some BT before heading back to my place for some SF III Third Strike and SC action. Mo as usual had to go back to Toronto and didn't join us for the great gaming action.
The rest of the weekend was basically the usual: Church, lunch (dim sum) with the parents (not @ SAM WOO btw), and just lounging around. Till next time, peace out. |
